Is Oakland Co. the Most “Lakey” Co. in the Great Lakes State?
Michigan is filled with lakes, rivers, and streams and is surrounded by the Great Lakes. Does Oakland County have the most lakes of any other county in the state?

As a fisherman and hunter, I was fortunate to grow up in Oakland County, Michigan. I say this because there were tons of lakes to fish and lots of state land to hunt. Plus I was not far from Detroit, Pontiac, Flint, Lansing, Saginaw, Grand Rapids, and Kalamazoo if I wanted to go to a concert.
I fished a lot of lakes around the town of Holly in Oakland County but to be honest, I never scratched the surface of just how many lakes I could have wet a line in.

Oakland County Michigan Has More Lakes Than Any Other County in the State
Reddit poster "SendThisVoidAway18' started the thread about not knowing Oakland County has the most lakes of any other county in Michigan. Reddit poster "DRReelGood9066" quickly pointed out you can't drive a straight line anywhere in Oakland County and they are correct on that statement.
There are 387 lakes in Oakland County. 317 have names but there are 70 that remain nameless. Locals who have access to those nameless lakes found mostly on private land often have names for those fishing holes.
A couple of posters on this Reddit thread pointed out over 11,000 inland lakes making Michigan the the fourth state with the most lakes in the country.
