This is the 22nd year of Free Beer and Hot Wings Holiday Break-Ins giving you a chance to nominate a family who may not have a Christmas without help.

What is a Holiday Break-In?

A holiday break-in is not a criminal breaking into a home to steal the Christmas presents that are under the tree. I'm sure they're plenty of break-ins around the holidays, but the one we are talking about is to help a family who may not have a Christmas otherwise.

Basically, a Holiday Break-in is a way for a person to nominate a family who is struggling and a Christmas Day may not be possible for the family. Maybe it's a friend, neighbor, co-worker, or someone you know of in your community who could use a hand for the holidays.

Free Beer and Hot Wings Show

All of the nomination letters are read by the entire cast of the Free Beer & Hot Wings Show, along with Janna, and Tommy Carroll from 979 GRD. Each person reads the letters in order to find a family they feel they can help the most.

Once a family is selected and the nominator is contacted, a shopping list is developed to buy the items the family needs and of course plenty of fun items for the kids. On the day the break in takes place, the nominator has to make sure the family is out of the house so the Christmas can be brought into the home.

No radio truck is used, no t-shirts or bumper stickers are left behind, the family receiving the Christmas has no idea where it came from. The family just knows that someone they don't know cares that they have a holiday with their family.

When you nominate a family for a Holiday Break-in, tell us as much about the family as possible. What they like, sizes for the family members, items they can use or need. Just don't tell the family you are nominating them.

If the family you nominate gets selected, you will be contacted by someone from the radio station to develop a shopping list and a time to have the family out of the house so Christmas can be delivered anonymously.
