GRDs Tommy Speaks With Lynyrd Skynyrd Guitarist on Status of Band
GRDs Tommy Carroll has a conversation with Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Rickey Medlocke on the status of the band and their performance coming to the Allegan County Fair.

Lynyrd Skynyrd's Rickey Medlocke
Rickey Medlocke who was originally the longtime singer and guitarist for Blackfoot has been in Lynyrd Skynyrd now for nearly 3 decades.
I was lucky enough to catch Blackfoot a couple of times when toured with ZZ Top at Pine Knob and Cobo Hall back in the day.
Rickey has always been a great guitarist and singer. There were even some tours back in the day where Blackfoot toured with Lynyrd Skynyrd. You might remember Blackfoot songs Train Train or Highway Song.
Rickey Medlocke Has Been a Member of Lynyrd Skynyrd Twice
A lot of people don't know that at one time Rickey Medlocke played drums for Lynyrd Skynyrd back in the early 70s. When Skynyrd brought back their drummer, Medlocke moved to guitar. He shortly left after to form Blackfoot.
Medlocke has been lifelong friends with original Skynyrd guitarist Gary Rossington.
Medlocke was invited to the Freebird The Movie premiere and that is where he reconnected with longtime friend Gary Rossington. The two began talking and soon Medlocke was back in Skynyrd as a guitarist and songwriter and has been there ever since.
Lynyrd Skynrd is coming to the Allegan County Fair on Friday, September 16. Tickets are still available here. If you order your tickets on or before August 15 your Skynyrd ticket will include your gate admission to the fair but you will still need to pay for parking.
