We see him every morning on Fox 17 Morning News. But who knew that Chief Meteorologist Kevin Craig played musical instruments? I sure didn't!

With the passing of Eddie Van Halen on Tuesday at the age of 65, Kevin Craig sat down at his keyboard at home and played a few Van Halen songs as a tribute to Eddie, who Kevin refers to as "a true 'master' of this instrument. Let me put it into perspective. He was to rock music and the guitar what Einstein was to relativity."

Here is Kevin's post and video on Facebook...

Wow! A meteorologist and a musician!

Eddie Van Halen was a heavy smoker for years, but in some interviews he said he believed he developed throat cancer from a metal guitar pick he used to frequently hold in his mouth more than 20 years ago. Eddie's health problems began in 2000 when he was treated for tongue cancer. The cancer spread to his throat and lungs. In the last 72 hours, Eddie's ongoing health battle went downhill. Doctors discovered his lung cancer had moved to his brain as well as other organs.

Eddie's son Wolfgang posted on social media: '"I can't believe I'm having to write this, but my father, Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, has lost his long and arduous battle with cancer this morning. He was the best father I could ever ask for. Every moment I've shared with him on and off stage was a gift. My heart is broken and I don't think I'll ever fully recover from this loss. I love you so much, Pop."

Eddie was married to actress Valerie Bertinelli from 1981 to 2007. She posted: "Throughout all your challenging treatments for lung cancer, you kept your gorgeous spirit and that impish grin. I'm so grateful Wolfie and I were able to hold you in your last moments. I will see you in our next life my love."

Eddie's current wife Janie was at his side when he died, along with his son Wolfgang, ex-wife Valerie Bertinelli, and his brother Alex.

R.I.P. Eddie
