Founders Brewing Co. Closes Grand Rapids, Detroit Taprooms
As of Friday, March 13, at 5p.m. Founder's Brewing Co. has closed its Grand Rapids and Detroit taprooms due to concerns about COVID-19.
Prior to Founders' announcement, Gov. Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed an executive order that bans events over 250 people and all large gatherings in shared spaces over 250 people.
During her announcement, Whitmer said,
“This is about protecting the most people we can from the spread of coronavirus. My administration will continue to do everything we can to mitigate the spread, and to ensure our children, families, and businesses have the support they need during this time. We are going to get through this, but we must be flexible and take care of each other.”
According to WZZM-13, by the end of the day Friday, March 13, 25 cases of coronavirus have tested presumptive positive in Michigan.
