Michigan has a history of generating pretty successful businesses, with West Michigan being home to some of the most successful and iconic companies in the entire country. As it does every year, Fortune has released its list of the top 500 businesses and companies in the USA.

 

While Michigan made a healthy showing, overall many of the companies were down in comparison to last year. What companies made the cut? Find out below.

Fortune 500 List

The Fortune 500 list is released each year by the financial magazine Fortune showcasing the top 500 most successful businesses across America based on earned revenue that year. This year's top 10 includes (in order) Walmart, Amazon, Exxon Mobil, Apple, UnitedHealth Group, CVS Health, Berkshire Hathaway, Alphabet, McKesson, and Chevron. Walmart has been #1 for 11 years in a row.

This year, no new companies from Michigan appeared on the Fortune 500 list, but none fell off the list either so...yay? This year, 18 Michigan companies appeared on the list with the highest company coming in at number 19 and the lowest ranking 441st. Here is each company and where they ranked on the list.
