'Sonic Highways,' the highly anticipated new HBO series put in motion by the Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl, is set to premiere this Friday, Oct. 17, and to celebrate, the band is giving fans in Chicago a very special concert.

HBO and Facebook are teaming up to present 'Foo Fighters Sonic Highways: Live From the Cubby Bear.' The live stream of the Foo Fighters premiere party concert will be made available to fans in the U.S. on the HBO Facebook page: The location of the event is significant in that the debut episode is centered in Chicago and the Cubby Bear is prominently featured throughout. Though a small venue, it holds a large significance to Grohl as it's the location he saw his first punk rock show many years ago.

The Foos will take the stage immediately following the broadcast of the debut episode of 'Sonic Highways' (roughly around 11:59PM ET). The band will perform old favorites as well as material from their forthcoming album, also titled 'Sonic Highways,' including their new single, 'Something From Nothing.' Fans in the Windy City can purchase tickets to the event beginning Wednesday, Oct. 15, and for those unable to watch the stream or attend in person, an archived version will be made available at a later date via HBO.

'Sonic Highways' is an eight-part documentary series, directed by Grohl, that delves into the musical environment, history and people at various stops across the country. After hearing the news about 'Live From the Cubby Bear,' we think the Foos might be planning a weekly concert throughout the country. Stay tuned for more.
