Foo Fighters Perform With Billy Idol, Welcome John Travolta at Welcome to Rockville
Over the weekend, the Foo Fighters performed a memorable set at the Welcome to Rockville Festival in Jacksonville, Fla. The band shared the stage with Billy Idol and invited famed actor John Travolta on stage for a brief romp through a Grease classic to the delight of the audience.
During their headlining show at the festival, the Foos performed a speedy punk style cover of John Lennon's "Gimme Some Truth," with iconic rocker Billy Idol. The singer crushed the performance that featured Grohl on backing vocals. Watch the performance in the player above and a snippet shared on social media above.
About ten minutes later the band took a moment to invite John Travolta on stage. According to Billboard, Travolta was in town working with Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst on the thriller Moose. The actor walked out and greeted Grohl for a quick cameo and then made his way back to the side of the stage as the band began to play "You're the One That I Want," from Travolta's classic 1978 film Grease. Grohl sang the opening lines of the tune and pulled the plug on the track saying, “It’s too much. It’s too much. Thank you and good night.” Watch the cameo in the player below.
The Foo Fighters have been making headlines by collaborating with fans on their current tour. In Houston Grohl "adopted" a fan and during their tour opener in Austin the band invited a fan wearing KISS make-up to play guitar on "Monkey Wrench." After the guitarist laid down an incredible guitar solo, Grohl was rendered speechless and actually forgot the lyrics.
The group will be out on tour all summer. Check out all their dates here.
