I fish many of the inland lakes on the west side of Michigan and stumble across some amazing cottages. I see firsthand why someone would want to own a cottage on a Michigan lake. Most inland lakes are clean for water sports and fishing.

Family Looking for Best West Michigan Inland Lake

A poster on the Michigan Reddit page recently inquired about favorite inland lakes on the west side. What was unusual about the post was that it mentioned they had $1 million to spend on a lake cottage and were looking for suggestions on favorite inland lakes. They live in Grand Rapids and are looking for something within a two-hour drive. Not everyone was helpful on the Reddit thread, but below is what fellow posters recommended.

If they don't mind driving 2 hours and 22 minutes from Grand Rapids, the obvious choice is Torch Lake, featuring some of Michigan's most beautiful water and cottages.
