My cousin Lisa has been doing this for years and knows more about our family history than I think our grandparents knew. It turns out we have family related to the Hatfields and McCoys.

I have a friend Jennifer, who has united several military families with soldiers who were not able to be identified at the time of battle they were lost in. Thanks to DNA testing she has been able to help connect several missing soldiers with surviving family members and bring them closure. It is amazing what technology and science can do.

DNA has reunited a man who was taken from his family when he was 6 years old. The 79-year-old man's name is Luis Armando Albino who wound up living a full life as a Marine, a firefighter, a father, and a grandfather but didn't know his blood family until June this year.

According to WOOD, Albino was 6 when a woman approached him while he was playing in a park and promised to buy him candy but kidnapped the boy and flew him from California to the East Coast where a couple raised him as their son.

Albino's 63-year-old niece Alida Alequin wanted to have fun and take an online DNA test in 2020. There was a match that turned out to be her missing uncle of 73 years. Alequin was unable to make the connection but her daughters resumed the search in 2024 and with the help of newspaper clippings, police, FBI, and DNA the woman was reunited with her uncle. Albino hugged the woman and said, "Thank you for finding me," then kissed her on the cheek.
