This Police Station WANTS You To Hide From Them This Halloween
If there is one thing my parents, movies, and every crime TV show have ever taught me, it is not to run from the police. Running from the scene of a crime will only make your situation worse. But this Halloween season, one sheriff's office is encouraging kids to do the exact opposite for an event that could give any kid the biggest bragging rights ever: escaping the police.
On the spookiest night of the year, the Dickinson County Sheriff's Office in Iron Mountain is giving anyone ages 10-17 a chance to outsmart the police in the ultimate game of Hide and Seek for a chance to win some prizes.
The game takes place on Halloween night at the Dickinson County Fairgrounds, with registration starting at 8:00 p.m.. Sheriff Aaron Rochon stated:
"This is a great opportunity for our youth to see that law enforcement can be approachable, supportive, and fun. We want to build positive relationships with the community and create lasting memories in a safe environment."
This type of event is definitely one fit for a town with a population of only 7.5K, according to the US Census. It's nice to see local law enforcement able to have fun on what could be a very hectic night around the country.
For anyone interested in putting their stealth skills to the test, you can view the full event details on Facebook.
