Michigan Woman Gets Scammed By Fake Detroit Lions PR Team
The Detroit Lions have reached Superhero status after last fall's remarkable season, making people like Jared Goff, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and head coach Dan Campbell household names. People around the country always look up to these players, with kids and fans wearing their jerseys and cheering them on.
So when Lisa Kryger, known as mommakryg on TikTok, posted a TikTok discussing how her son is a massive Amon-Ra St. Brown fan and wanted to throw a Hail Mary of her own to try and get St. Brown's attention to receive a birthday shoutout for her son, she didn't think anything would come of it.
However, she got much more than she bargained for when a fake Detroit Lions Public Relations team began messaging her and attempted to scam the woman...and she has the receipts to prove it.
An Innocent Request
This entire saga started two days ago when Kryger posted a TikTok talking about her experience at the pre-season game this past weekend, where St. Brown waved at her son, Easton. Easton's birthday is coming up and she wanted to see if St. Brown would wish Easton a happy birthday.
Fast-forward to today, when Lisa posted an update video revealing that she had heard from the Detroit Lions PR team. They were going to hook her entire family up with field passes and an all-expenses-paid trip to meet St. Brown!
Or so she thought.
Turns out the people she was speaking to were scammers posing as a PR team. The scammers weren't asking for anything in return. It looks like they were being awful people just to mess with her.

Evidence
People online were questioning the validity of the whole ordeal, so Momma Kryger posted screen recordings of the entire interaction.
Thank goodness Kryger was attentive and didn't take everything at face value, asking multiple times for proof of employment. The whole situation is messed up. It would be a good ending if a real Lions PR team saw this and could arrange something.
Either way, shame on those scammers for trying to capitalize on an innocent interaction. If an offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
