The 2023 season opener for the Detroit Lions turned a lot of football fans' heads with they beat the Super Bowl Champions the Kansas City Chiefs in the game opener in Kansas City.

In week two, the Lions had people concerned after a loss in overtime at home at Ford Field when they lost to the Seattle Seahawks 37-31. A couple of mistakes cost them the game and many longtime Lions fans were left wondering if the hype was too big.

Week three rolls around and the Lions take it to the Atlanta Falcons at home 20 to 6 dominating on both sides of the ball. More respect now comes to the team from fans and the media.

Then in week four the Lions go to Lambeau Field in Green Bay and basically embarrass the Packers on their home field with a dominating victory of 34-20. People are taking the Lions very seriously and so is the NFL.

NFL Announces First Flex Schedule Change of 2023

Apparently, the NFL is saying the Lions are for real because they just announced the first "Flex Schedule" change of the year.

If you are unfamiliar with a flex schedule, it's simple if a game is scheduled for Thursday in a given week and the NFL wants to move a better game Sunday into that Thursday spot, the league will switch the two games. This can happen with any two games.

The NFL has moved the Lion's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in week 6 to so the game gets the attention it deserves to 4;24 p.m. instead of the originally scheduled 1 p.m. time slot. Both teams are at the top of their divisions which makes this a game not just Lions or Bucs fans are going to want to watch but football fans around the country.

Feels good to be a Lions fan...it's been a long time coming.
