Dee Snider Smashes the Opposition on New Song ‘I Am the Hurricane’
We're nearing the release of For the Love of Metal, the latest album from Twisted Sister legend Dee Snider. The video for "Become the Storm" recently premiered at Loudwire and now the thematic successor to the track, "I Am the Hurricane," has surfaced.
Heavily entrenched in the modern era of metal, Snider sways between atmospheric moments over which he still belts empowering lines over and more rhythmic-intense passages better suited for the singer's dominant voice. Lyrically, "I Am the Hurricane" is a surface-level fist-clencher that leaves the listener searching for inner strength rather than hidden meanings.
"This is a really incredibly exciting album that I did not expect to make, especially at this point in my life," Snider begins. "Jamey Jasta challenged me to make a contemporary rock record. … and I rose to the challenge!"
For the Love of Metal will be released on July 27 release through Napalm Records and features album contributions appearances from former Killswitch Engage and current Light the Torch singer Howard Jones, Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton, Arch Enemy vocalist Alissa White-Gluz, Toxic Holocaust's vocalist, guitarist and bassist Joel Grind and drummer Nick Bellmore and Kingdom of Sorrow guitarist and bassist Charlie Bellmore.
