So where there's cash to made, there's fraud and identity theft to be committed. Here are some helpful tips to make sure you don't get scammed while online shopping on Monday.
More than one password Be sure to use various passwords for your online accounts.
Watch out for the kids Monitor your young ones. They shop too. And can get scammed using your credit cards way easier. If they are shopping online, make sure you do it with them.
Proper navigation Be sure to navigate to websites on your own. Be careful of pop-up advertisements and emails that look like they have been sent by popular retailers.
Use only secure sites Experts warn shoppers to make sure the website they are using contains https:// at the beginning of the address. The S at the end means the site is secure and personal information is encrypted.
Identity Theft Be careful of what personal info you provide online to your retailer when shopping. And make sure you're on a trusted secure sight you navigated to yourself. Be weary of stuff and sites that don't look or feel right.
If it's too good to be true If it looks like a great deal. A really, really, really great deal. Be careful.
Monitor your transactions After a busy day of shopping online, make sure you check your transactions for any fraudulent activities on your card. Write down every purchase as you go and make sure you get email confirmation of each purchase. Keep track of what you're doing.
