According to a report from WOOD TV 8, the sale of 20 Monroe Live has finally closed, but the BOB's future still seems up in the air.
Who bought 20 Monroe Live in Grand Rapids?
According to the report, the deal for the venue, now known as GLC Live at 20 Monroe, closed on March 1st, but as of this point, the buyer is still unknown. Prior reports stated that even if sold, the space would still remain an entertainment venue with bookings handled by promoter Live Nation.
Is the BOB closed permanently in Grand Rapids?
It was initially believed that the venue was permanently closed after shutting down in late December, days before its originally announced closing.
But a message from owner Greg Gilmore seems to leave the possibility open that the venue could re-open.

Also, a check of the BOB's facebook page currently shows that the venue is 'temporarily closed'. Most times the information sections on facebook are filled out by the business owners themselves, so you have to wonder what they're not saying at this point.
What has been going on at the BOB in Grand Rapids since they 'closed'?
The venue has still been open as an event space and the marquee has stayed lit up, usually promoting upcoming events at Van Andel Arena.
So you have to wonder, will the Big Old Building ride again? It certainly seems much more plausible than it did even a few months ago.
