I am not a very lucky person when it comes to winning prizes, but there are plenty who are. Here are some of the coolest things people have won in the Grand Rapids area.

Who doesn't like to enter a contest and win a prize? I have entered plenty and never won anything. My sister won a video game system from a cereal box when we were kids, but that has been it for my family.

I have worked in radio for nearly 30 years and set up many contests. It is amazing how some people win all the time while others can never get through on the phone. It must be true that some people are just luckier than others.

Recently, someone posted on the Grand Rapids Reddit page asking, "What is the coolest thing you've ever won?" I sifted through the thread, and below are some of the coolest prizes posted.

Now that is a solid win right there. Looks like they made the most of this win fall and created some lasting memories.

Winning a Game Boy had to be an exciting day for a young kid.

Wow! I am jealous of that win fall. That would be a good prize today, and Barry Sanders has been retired for over 20 years.

And the gamer crowd says. "OOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhh."

That is what you call a win-win, right there.

I wonder how many chicken nuggets that kid ate that year?

If my kid won a PS5, he would lose his mind.

Now that is a big win for a kid in high school.

20 years later, and still the best day ever. Love it!
