When Jurassic Park hit theaters, people were simply amazed by the realism of the dinosaurs. On top of that, it was pretty well written, directed, and publicized. It quickly became a classic.

Did you know that instead of 100% relying on stop motion, Steven Spielberg opted to go with CG because of the smooth movements and the realism, even though most of the movie effects were already dedicated to stop motion. When Spielberg told the stop motion animator of the sudden change, the animator said, "I'm extinct." Spielberg loved the line so much, he added it into the script.
