Construction Worker Killed by Falling Board in Downtown Grand Rapids
Sad news to report this afternoon as a construction worker who was working on our building was killed by a large piece of falling wood.
WZZM-13 reports that the worker was working on the ground at 50 Monroe Ave. NW in downtown Grand Rapids around 2 p.m. when the wood fell on him. It's still unclear which floor the wood fell from, and wind likely was a contributing factor.
The board was 2 inches by 12 inches and 20 feet long.
The construction worker was identified as 48-year-old Luciano Marban. A GoFundMe page was created by the family of Luciano to help with funeral expenses.
