Coheed And Cambria have lost another band member, but this time the split is amicable. Drummer Chris Pennie announced that he is leaving the band to pursue other projects.

As Kerrang! reports, Pennie released the following statement about his departure:

"I am very thankful for the years that I shared the stage with the guys and want to thank the amazing, supportive fans that I’ve met while on tour, but there are a lot of exciting projects on the horizon, in addition to Return To Earth and Fight Mannequins, that I feel require my absolute 100 percent commitment and attention. I feel that this is the right time to make that happen."

Coheed made an official statement of their own and it shows no sign of any bad blood.

"Tough decisions were made today that will help shape this band for the coming years," says a statement from the band. "We extend our deepest appreciation to Chris Pennie for an incredible journey."

Pennie joined Coheed And Cambria in 2007 after his departure from The Dillinger Escape Plan. No replacement has been announced at this time.

Coheed lost bassist Michael Todd earlier this year as he was caught robbing a Walgreens pharmacy in Massachusetts, stealing six bottles of Oxycontin by threatening employees that he had a bomb.
