Talinda Bennington, widow of the late Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, has slammed the coroner in charge of his death investigation and TMZ for revealing details that were redacted from his autopsy report. And she’s accused officials of having paraphrased her words in order to “dramatize” the incident in question.

Her anger concerns a previous suicide attempt, which she says she’d discussed with investigating authorities with the intention of assisting in their progress. She didn’t want it made public because she hadn’t told the couple’s children about it. The details were redacted when the report was released. TMZ reported some of those details, which they said they’d received from “sources familiar with the investigation.” That could refer to someone in or near the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner - Coroner, which investigated Bennington’s suicide at home in July.

Talinda tweeted, “Fun fact – when your husband dies by suicide, the LA County Coroner’s Office will paraphrase your private conversation with them to dramatize and sensationalize the story and then scumbag filth like TMZ post it for the world to feast on. It was redacted to protect all the kids!

“And now I get to go pull my 11 yr old out of school – because all the kids can use their phones at lunch – to be the first to tell him what really happened in Nov. Thanks again to scumbag reporting. F--- you TMZ.”

The report confirmed that Bennington, who’d been struggling with sobriety for some time, had trace amounts of alcohol in his system when he died. His friend Ryan Shuck commented: “We don’t know how much, but it doesn’t take much when you’re that advanced an alcoholic and an addict, and you’re battling to the extent he described to me. You don’t need much to lose your mind for a minute.”
