Bryan Cranston to Make a Big Splash at ArtPrize

You may know him as Walter White from Breaking Bad, but real-life actor Bryan Cranston has a drinkable reason for being part of ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Bryan Cranston had an incredible run as the star of AMC’s hit series Breaking Bad. The show aired 62 episodes between January 20, 2008, and September 29, 2013. It premiered with roughly 1.4 million viewers, but the audience grew to more than 10.3 million by the series finale, making it one of the most-watched cable TV episodes ever.

Many fans also know Cranston as Hal, the lovable and often chaotic dad on the hit Fox sitcom Malcolm in the Middle. The show ran from 2000 to 2006, featuring 151 episodes across seven seasons.

Cranston has also appeared in films including Argo, Drive, and Saving Private Ryan. TV fans may also remember him as Dr. Tim Whatley, Jerry’s dentist on the hit sitcom Seinfeld. But this time, Cranston is coming to Grand Rapids for a very different reason. He won’t be here as an actor. He’ll be here as a co-owner of a spirits brand.

Bryan Cranston and his Breaking Bad co-star Aaron Paul, who played Jesse Pinkman, teamed up to co-found Dos Hombres. The spirits company produces their mezcal brand, bringing the two former co-stars together for a whole new kind of partnership.

According to WOOD TV8, Dos Hombres will be available at bars and restaurants throughout ArtPrize, which runs September 18 through October 3. Cranston will also help present an award to one of the event’s winning artists during the final week of ArtPrize. In addition, he’ll host a private seminar for high school and college student actors from the area, focusing on acting, storytelling, and the creative process.
