Boyne Mountain Still Open For Skiing, Nearing Latest Closing Date EVER
On May 14th, with the sun shining, trees and flowers in bloom, and birds chirping outside my window, the last thing on my mind is snow: the cold, white substance that holds Michigan in a chokehold for almost half the year. While this year we've had some chilly mornings later than usual, spring is mostly here in full force.

Mostly being the keyword. Some areas of Michigan, like Boyne Mountain Resort, are still clinging to winter. Winter is still in force at the four-season resort, with Victor Glacier still inviting skiers to its slopes for a skiing experience unlike any before.
Boyne Mountain's Latest Closing Date Ever
It's not something you see every day: a stripe of bright white snow surrounded by lush green grass on both sides. But that's how things are looking at Victor Glacier at Boyne Mountain, which, according to its latest Mountain Report, is still ~8 feet deep and actively welcoming skiers.
Despite 70°F weather, skiers can hit the slope from 9 am to 1 pm Saturday and Sunday, with the resort announcing that their final day of the season will be May 23rd, the latest closing date in history. To celebrate, the resort is hosting a closing party with giveaways and more.

Boyne Mountain is a four-season resort that has mostly transitioned to mountain biking, horseback riding, tennis, disc golf, and more. A full list of its summer activities can be seen here. Either way, Boyne managed to showcase why it's called a four-season resort.
