Recently, residents of the Grand Rapids area discussed who makes the best tacos. This list might inspire Taco Tuesday road trips.

Locals did a fantastic job of pointing out different taco locations when making their choices. There were only a few duplicates.

Taco Tuesday is now a nationwide tradition, including in West Michigan. It's not often that a phrase once trademarked by Taco John's enters the public domain, but that happened with Taco Tuesday.

The tradition of offering discounted tacos on Tuesdays began in the 1930s but didn’t gain widespread popularity until the 1980s. It has now grown into families celebrating Taco Tuesdays at home.

Where Grand Rapids Locals Get Their Tacos

Tacos are like pizza; they are all great, but the goal is to find where to get the best. Recently, on the Grand Rapids Reddit, locals discussed where to get the best tacos in the area, so you may want to write some of these locations down to plan your next taco trip.

One thing I noticed about the suggestions from locals is that no one said Taco Bell.
