Want Great Nachos? Try These 6 Spots Around Grand Rapids
As a kid, I lived in a very busy household. Four kids, all of whom played sports, with one parent coaching all of those sports and the other trying to make sure we didn't forget our shinguards or cleats. Suffice to say, we were a family on the move, which meant quick meals with few ingredients were commonplace.

So, nachos were a go-to meal for nights after a practice or between events. However, my family didn't really revolutionize the nachos game; nachos consisted only of cheese and chips. So when I got older and realized you could add meat and vegetables? Mindblown.
Since nachos are so easy to create and can have near-infinite combinations, you've got to have some stellar nachos to stand out.

We scoured the web to find the spots people loved most. Whether you have a hankering for something to share with your friends or the best food to have after a few drinks, you'll want to check out these six spots around Grand Rapids (in no particular order).
Big E's Sports Bar and Grill
Big E's Sports Bar and Grill's Nachos are a mountain of chips and other toppings, making this a great choice to share or pick at during a Lions or MSU/UoM game.
"Double layered with tortilla chips, cheese, onion, tomato, jalapenos, and topped with lettuce, black olives, pico de gallo, and sour cream served on a tortilla shell.
Cabaña Tres Amigos
Cabaña Tres Amigos in Kentwood was one of my most-visited spots for nachos growing up because not only were their chips delicious, but the number of nacho variations is striking. You can choose between four different kinds of nachos, each with hearty portions.
Nachos Supreme: "A supreme platter of crisp homemade taco chips piled with ground beef or shredded chicken, lettuce, Pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, and melted cheese | Make it grilled chicken for $2.00 or Steak $3.00 more."
Noco Provisions
Noco Provisions is known for their "Noco Nachos," made with roasted green chili queso, charred sweet corn, cilantro, pickled red onions, black beans & ranchero cream. Options of BBQ chicken, seasoned beef, or veggie. Plus, it offers vegetarian and gluten-free options, making the Noco Nachos a popular choice for those with dietary restrictions.
Garage Bar
Another location with a nacho featuring a memorable name, the Garage Bar & Grill is known for its "Nitro Nachos" that feature tortilla chips, chili sauce, creamy cheese sauce, lettuce, tomato, jalapeno, house guacamole, green onions, and sour cream on the side. You can add chicken for an additional charge.
Personally, if there is an option to add meat, you gotta do it.
Westside Social Tavern
The Westside Nachos from Westside Social Tavern are one of the most-talked-about nachos online, and for good reason. Not only are they among the cheapest nachos in town for the amount of food you're getting, but just read these ingredients:
Fresh tortilla chips, choice of braised short rib or smoked pulled chicken, house-pickled jalapeños, cilantro lime crema, red cabbage, pico de gallo, queso fresco, and ancho chipotle queso
Z's Bar & Restaurant
Z's is noted across Reddit and Facebook for not having the best nachos in town, but the portion size makes up for it. Plus, Z's kitchen is open until 2 am, so getting a huge plate of nachos after a night out is a great deal.
Honorable Mention: Crab Rangoon Nachos
These are a kind of nacho I learned about last week, and I will be eagerly awaiting trying them. However, my friend recently visited RÁK Downtown Market GR inside the Downtown Market and was raving about them. It combines two of my favorite foods, so it should prove interesting.
