Avatar

Avatar is a Swedish heavy metal band that formed in Gothenburg in 2001. They have released 9 studio albums and have continued building an audience for over 20 years.

Avatar was formed by guitarist Jonas Jarlsby and drummer John Alfredsson in 2001 but it wasn't until a few member changes that the current lineup was built. Singer Johannes Exkerstrom joined in 2002 and bassist Henrik Sandelin in 2003. Guitarist Tim Ohrstrom has been in the band since 2011 after replacing Simon Andersson.

It wasn't until 2011 when Avatar released Black Waltz that fans around the world began to take notice.

Avatar has become one of the most entertaining metal bands on the planet. Even if you don't know the songs, you cannot help but have a great time at one of their shows.

Avatar is bringing the Chimp Mosh Pit Tour to the Intersection on Friday, September 15 for a special all-ages show.
