If you're an elitist metalhead who gets pissed at bands for using drum machines, you're about to have one of the worst days of your life. A never-ending stream of artificial intelligence-generated death metal has now been posted (video below) and it's not too far off from the real thing.

The project was created by CJ Carr and Zack Zukowski of Dadabots. As described by Engadget, the "Dadabots project uses a recurrent neural network to identify patterns in the music, predict the most common elements and reproduce them." For Relentless Doppleganger, the 24/7 stream of AI death metal, they used Canada's Archspire as the sample source.

Archspire's brand of technical death metal is highly advanced with outrageously fast vocal patterns hinging on choppy, erratic parts. If you're one of those people who still calls death metal singing "Cookie Monster vocals," this is probably how you've always heard the genre anyway. Those with a more learned ear will notice the difference, but, on occasion, there's parts that are convincingly in line with its source material.

You may remember hearing about the Dadabots project toward the end of 2017 when Carr and Zukowski released two AI albums, one using The Dillinger Escape Plan's Calculating Infinity as source material and the other sourcing Krallice's Diotima.
