First, I didn't know there was such a thing called "Uneaten Halloween Candy" but apparently there is and a local dentist is paying cash for the it.

According to WZZM, there is a dentist in Plainfield Township by the name of Brian S. Nylaan, D. D. S., that is buying uneaten candy back from kids.

Trick or Treaters looking to earn some extra cash after the haul of Halloween candy can become part of the Buy-Back Program. Nylaan said, "We will give out a dollar a pound, plus a goodie bag. We don't give them paper. We give them dollar coins."

You are probably wondering at this point...why is the dentist buying back uneaten Halloween candy. Well, its part of Operation Gratitude and the candy gets shipped via care packages around the world to our troops. United Parcel Service actually ships the candy free of charge.

The Candy Buy Back has been going on for 9 years. The organization has shipped a ton of candy to troops around the globe.

If you are looking to cash in plus take some time to sort through your candy, save the uneaten candy and you can earn your cash Tuesday, November 6th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Nylann Dental on 5011 Plainfield Avenue NE, in Grand Rapids.
