Listen to Angels & Airwaves' Buzzy New Song 'Kiss and Tell'

Angels & Airwaves make a strong showing on their second new song since 2016, "Kiss and Tell," released Thursday (Aug. 29) to commemorate the start of their current U.S. tour. It's the latest from estranged Blink-182 member Tom DeLonge's contemporary outfit since "Rebel Girl" was released in April.

Combining elements of rock, pop and electronic music, "Kiss and Tell" is a high-speed ode to life's exciting and affirming challenges, DeLonge indicated. Listen to the tune down toward the bottom of this post.

"The beginning of the song is really an ode to the Beach Boys," DeLonge said in a press release. "It opens with three-part harmonies to create an introduction with multi-dimensionality. We wanted to create a sound that had electronic elements right alongside classic rock and pop punk melodic structures. Lyrically, this song is specifically about balancing on the edge of a razor blade. Doing something you’re not supposed to be doing, and although you might die while doing it, it’s still very much keeping you feeling alive."

Angels & Airwaves (which also includes guitarist David Kennedy, drummer Ilan Rubin (who is pulling double duty with The New Regime opening shows) and touring bassist Matt Rubano kicked off their first extensive trek in seven years Wednesday night (Aug. 28) to a packed-house show in San Diego. There, in addition to the Angels & Airwaves music, DeLonge also regaled the rapt audience with intimate acoustic versions of Blink-182's "I Miss You" and "Aliens Exist" that had the crowd singing along with gusto.

The band is currently working on a new album, which will be Angels & Airwaves' first collection of new songs since 2016's Chasing Shadows EP. DeLonge exited Blink-182 in 2015, and since that time, much of the musician's focus has seemingly been centered on his interest in ufology.
