One Of West Michigan’s Most Popular Haunted Attractions Is Closed This Fall
I'm a sucker for a good scare. I love horror movies, and each year, my sister and I always make a big deal out of Halloween. Our favorite activity, by far, is going to a haunted house, with bonus points for those with haunted corn mazes. This time of year is when all these attractions and corn mazes go into full swing.

So when I was doing my usual search to see what my options were, I got a fright that had nothing to do with killer clowns or chainsaw massacre. This year, one of West Michigan's most acclaimed attractions is taking a year off, but before you scream bloody murder, don't worry: it's for a good reason.

Abandoned Acres Farms Closed For 2026
Abandoned Acres Farm Haunted Attraction is an award-winning haunted attraction in Fruit Ridge that blends corn maze and indoor experiences to create a unique (and frightening) experience. Usually, this would be opening weekend for the attraction, but their website looks a bit different this year.

According to their Facebook page, the attraction will be closed this fall while it undergoes a major overhaul and moves indoors to create a new immersive indoor experience. Details won't be announced until early next year, but the key takeaway is that the attraction will not be open this fall.
With the success of the Abandoned Acres Escape Adventures, the year-round portion of the Abandoned Acres attractions with 6 different escape rooms that have had glowing reviews, the Abandoned Acres team is going all-out on an indoor experience in a large space.
I'm excited to see what Abandoned Acres has to offer next fall. In the meantime, take a look below for other corn mazes around West Michigan to help fill the knife-sized hole in your heart.
