I am a big fan of shopping locally. I will go to a small business and purchase something instead of getting it from Amazon. Those products I know were made here and I feel good supporting a fellow Michigander. But a special sense of excitement is reserved for learning that a nationally recognized and loved product is made here in Michigan when you had no idea.

For me, my aunt and uncle were big Carhartt fans and would always talk up the brand. When they revealed that they loved the brand because it was made here in Michigan on top of being a quality product gave me an even bigger appreciation for the brand.

Carhartt is only one of many well-known brands that originated or are based here in the Great Lake State. Considering Michigan is the 10th most populous state and 11th largest in the country, you'd hope we would have created at least a couple of good things with this many brains around.
