Three teenagers have been arrested in connection to a bomb threat that closed Lakeview Schools in Battle Creek Tuesday, WZZM-13 reports.

Officers were notified of a threat at Lakeview Middle School around 6:30a.m. and shortly after officials made the call to close all district schools.

According to police, the incident stemmed from an ongoing dispute between two female students.

A threatening note was left in the bathroom of Lakeview Middle School on Monday afternoon. Police believe it was written by one of the girls, who signed the other girl's name, in an attempt to make that girl a suspect.

Another note was also left on the porch of the girl being targeted Tuesday morning. Police say the targeted girl did not have anything to do with the threats. The girl who is believed to have written the notes and two friends have been taken into custody.

Police searched the building with a bomb-sniffing dog and by 9:40a.m. determined there to be no explosives present.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Lakeview Public Schools had updated a statement on their website to read:

We are thankful to share that police have found no threat at Lakeview Middle School.  This morning, Battle Creek and Michigan State police departments responded to a possible bomb threat at the school.  Following a search of the building and investigation, the police have identified the individuals responsible and verified that there is no threat.

Lakeview Middle School and High School teams may hold practices this evening as determined by the coach/activity sponsor.  Current information on athletic activities is available online at LakeviewSpartans.net. Tonight’s LHS Theater Showcase will be rescheduled.  The elementary buildings will remain closed for the day/evening with no after school activities.  All schools will be open tomorrow."
