A new study just out last week shows that recreational vehicle vacations cost less than other forms of vacation travel, even when factoring in fuel prices and the cost of RV ownership.

The study found savings of 27 percent to 62 percent for a four-person group and 15 percent to 48 percent for two-person group, according to the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association.

Narrow down the RV -- or RVs -- to do some vacation travel or camping in by checking out the West Michigan RV Outlet Show, which runs Thursday through Sunday -- Sept. 18 to 21 -- at Fifth Third Ballpark, 4500 West River Drive NE just off U.S. 131 in Comstock Park.

Ten manufacturers are taking part, with factory discounts available at the West Michigan RV Outlet Show.

Admission is free and parking is free for the show, which is sponsored by local RV dealers and manufacturers.
