UPDATE: 1/30/19 (12:30 p.m) - The USPS has announced that they will not be delivering mail on Thursday, January 31, 2019. Mail delivery is expected to resume on Friday, February 1, 2019.

Now you really have no reason to even step outside today.

The United States Postal Service announced that they will not be delivering mail on Wednesday in many states, including parts of Michigan.

Due to this arctic outbreak and concerns for the safety of USPS employees, the Postal Service is suspending delivery Jan. 30...

In Michigan this affects zip codes starting with 486-491 and 493-499. This obviously is a good chunk of West Michigan which includes Grand Rapids and its surrounding neighborhoods; as well as all of Ottawa County and Muskegon County.

Other major cities in Michigan that will not be getting mail today are Detroit, Flint, Lansing, Saginaw & Kalamazoo.

Thanks to all the postal workers for working hard and doing what they do on a daily basis!
