Jason Dalton was arraigned on multiple counts today for the Kalamazoo shootings which left six people dead on Saturday night. He was a driver for Uber.

We are horrified and heartbroken at the senseless violence in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Our hearts and prayers are with the families of the victims of this devastating crime and those recovering from injuries. We have reached out to the police to help with their investigation in any way that we can.

Today, Uber spoke with reporters.

Mashable reports Dalton had a 4.73 (out of 5.0) driver rating before Saturday night. They also report that Ed Davis, a member of Uber's Safety Advisory Board said:

As I understand it, it's a situation of someone who had no criminal background, someone who has been described by police as an average joe, a husband, and a father. I can’t see that there was anything that we could have done to prevent this."
