Dave Matthews Band top Diffuser.fm’s Top 40 Songs of September 2012 list with ’Mercy,’ the lead single from the forthcoming ‘Away From the World’ album, which hits stores Sept. 11. DMB recently unveiled a new James Frost-directed video for ‘Mercy’ that features a bounty of fan-shot footage, and

No Doubt climb into the No. 2 slot with ‘Settle Down,’ the first single off  ’Push and Shove,’ their forthcoming comeback album. ’Push and Shove’ is No Doubt’s first full-length disc since 2001′s ‘Rock Steady,’ and ‘Settle Down’ perfectly introduces the disc in anthemic fashion. Green Day, meanwhile, trumpet the arrival of their forthcoming ’¡Uno!,’ ‘¡Dos!,’ and ‘¡Tre!’ trilogy of albums with ’Oh Live,’ a spunky dance track that has been earning more than a few comparisons to Franz Ferdinand.

New to our Top 40 Songs tally this month include tracks from Mumford and Sons, Grizzly Bear and the Dirty Heads‘ ‘Up All Night,’ a stone groove featuring current tour mate Matisyahu. And there are plenty more where those come from, so check out our Top 40 Songs of September 2012 list and see what’s heating things up.
