It usually doesn't go well for kickers when they get involved in a play.

Just ask Baylor's Chris Callahan.

Callahan saw his 43-yard field goal attempt blocked by Michigan State with just over a minute remaining in Thursday's Cotton Bowl college football match-up Thursday in Arlington, Texas. On the ensuing return by the Spartans, Callahan (5-foot-9) got caught gazing up field by MSU receiver Tony Lippett (6-foot-3) who promptly laid one of the most devastating blocks in recent memory on the Bears' kicker.

Michigan State went on to win 42-41, after trailing Baylor 41-21 earlier in the fourth quarter.

Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook's touchdown pass to Keith Mumphery with 17 seconds left capped the rally, set up when Marcus Rush blocked Callahan's field goal try. MSU's RJ Williamson picked up the blocked kick and moved it to the Baylor 45 with 65 seconds left to set up the game-winning drive.

Callahan was OK, announcing his well being via Twitter:
