This is Why the News Media Totally Sucks at Their Job [Rant]

The Fort Hood shooting spree Wednesday was a terrible thing. It’s always bad that these things happen. Our thoughts go out to all the families of those affected by this tragedy.

As if the incident wasn’t bad enough, why does the news media add stupid crap in the following days. Like the latest news story from ABC News.

Their focus in the first half of the new story: That the shooter was a fan of Slipknot.

Are you kidding me? Why does the news only bring out a psycho’s musical tastes when they listen to metal?  I’ve never seen a story about a shooter that loved Mariah Carey. Not because they’re not out there, but because the terrible news media doesn’t think that’s something that will outrage anyone.

But metal? Dear God, we have to curtail the reach of this evil noise!

I assume they run with stories like this because it’s easier to do than to actually go out and do their jobs to discover what was going on, and they can just bring up some evil movie or music to put together another story.

One time news morons: MUSIC AND MOVIES DO NOT MAKE PEOPLE KILL!

Read deeper into the article to see that the shooter was suffering from “depression and anxiety and a variety of other psychological issues”.  THAT is what made him do this horrible act.  Focus on THAT!

NOT FREAKING METAL MUSIC.

F*** you, news media.  Stick with the facts, and the real reasons for the incident.

Sorry, rant over. Please return to your regular Friday. Thanks.
