Really. I'm not kidding. This exists.

There's a new social network called Fartners that has one simple goal: Sharing the sound of your farts with friends, family, and other people who enjoy the sound of farts?

They're tooting this thing as "a social network for your ass."

I guess it's a good sign for humanity that it took until 2015 for someone to come up with this.

But, really? You basically just invented Fartbook?

I don't really think so.

How does it work?

Well, basically you sign up, then fire up the app any time you feel some gas coming, and then hit record.

Your flatulence is shared with your friends, followers, and everyone else on the site. Then they can rate it, comment on it, and share it.

So, it's sort of like all other social media, but instead of people sharing their brain farts, they share their actual farts.

Right now Fartners is only available for Android users, but they're doing a crowd-funding campaign to raise money for an iPhone version.

So far, they've raised $1,635 of their $10,000 goal.

You can get the app by searching "Fartners" in the Google Play store. And you can see how the crowd-funding is going by searching "Fartners" on Indiegogo.com.
