The Ramones will be honored at next year's Grammy Awards.

The punk rock pioneers will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, 15 years after the group disbanded.  The Ramones hit the New York scene in 1974 and have released 14 albums, influencing the likes of Green Day, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, My Chemical Romance, and countless others.

Founding members Joey, Johnny, and Dee Dee Ramone have all passed away but will be honored at a special ceremony in LA February 12.

About damn time.
