I can only think of good times when I think of the original Nintendo. The amazing games that I continue to play today are treasured memories that remind me of childhood so well. Even though the NES isn't my all time favorite game console, it is a VERY close second.

Hard to believe this iconic video game system is 30 years old.

I have already told the story before of when this video game console arrived on my doorstep in the very early 90's, so I won't bore you with those details. Plus, if you want to hear the history of why this video game console is so iconic, then I suggest you CLICK HERE.

I would consider the NES my actual first video game console. My parents owned an Atari, but that was there's. When the NES showed up at my house, it was mine (and brothers). It was our first true video game console. Surprisingly if you think just the games were all of the memories I have, you'd be wrong!

I rented my first video game from Video Tyme for the NES. I read my first video game magazine Nintendo Power, thanks to the NES. I borrowed my first ever video game, thanks to the NES!

I know some of the stuff I listed above is kinda lame, but these are some of my fondest memories.

Why does this game console hold such a special place in my heart? It really started everything for me. It started a love that I have had for video games that has gone over 20 years. People may find me weird, lame, boring, because of my love for games, but do you have that one thing that just defines you as a person? Video games is that for me. Sure, mock me and consider me a nerd, but I love video games. While everyone these days plays Xbox and Playstation, I still hang by Nintendo, I always have!

When everyone was buying Sega, I got a Super Nintendo. When PS2 and Xbox were dominating the world, I got the Gamecube. When Wii's gimmick was wearing down from massive popularity, I awaited the next big title. Now with WiiU, I defend it with pride.

NES hit the scene back in 1985, and I have loved it ever since. (Even though I was born in 1987).
