Say hello to my favorite ArtPrize entry for the 2013 season.  It's called the Kentucky Horse Shit Project and it is exactly that.  The installation consists of several 24" x 24" prints of shirtless men with horse manure in their mouths.  The photos are hung along side jars filled with racehorse manure collected from various farms in Fayette Co., KY.

Louis Zoellar Bickett, the photographer, describes himself as conceptual artist with this being his first entry into ArtPrize.  He is based out of Lexington, Kentucky and commonly uses photography in his work.  You can find this installation at the DeVos Place Convention Center and you can vote for this installation by using the vote code 54185.

The Kentucky Horse Shit Project is more than just interesting and bizarre.  It raises so many questions.  Who are these men?  Why did they agree to put horse poo in their mouths?  And finally, why is this described as a project?
