Teens Admit to Making up Abduction Attempt in Park Township

Police say that a 14-year-old girl who reported an attempted abduction near the Holland area on Sunday made the story up, Fox 17 reports.

The teen had said she had been walking along Terrace Avenue in Park Township when she was approached by a man who asked her if she wanted to buy popcorn.

She alleged he grabbed her wrist and tried to get her into his van.

Ottawa County detectives had been investigating the incident, but did not find evidence to support it.

The teen admitted Wednesday that she had made up the story.

The Ottawa County Prosecutor is now reviewing the case.
