The club last night was awesome. Great sound, great stage, wonderful staff. You know you're in Las Vegas when there's more leather, studs and sequence in the crowd than there is on stage. We were opening for a well-known local Vegas cover band.

I was a little sad to leave L.A. yesterday. Only because we are getting so close to finishing this group of songs that it's frustrating to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and not be able to run into it. If we just had two or three weeks in the studio we could really wrap things up. Yesterday in Kingman, Ariz., was fantastic from start to end. The promoter and venue took amazing care of us

Happy Valentines Day everyone! It feels great to be back in the bus as we roll out of town. Everyone seems fresh and ready to get to work. We got a lot done yesterday. Mitch, Gurley, and myself spent the early afternoon writing and met up with the band over at Mates Rehearsal at 4pm. The guy working there said if we had shown up 30 minutes earlier we would've ran into Slash. That would've been coo

We had an amazingly productive day in the rehearsal room yesterday. We arranged a full-band, acoustic version of "Follow" and spent some time jamming on the new arrangement of "Bloody Sunrise." We also worked on a new arrangement for "Get a Little," and for the last 2 hours we jammed on some brand new songs.

We loaded into a rehearsal studio at noon yesterday. We rehearsed the new version of "Bloody Sunrise" and worked on a new song that we're calling "Superhero," but that title could always change. It was so refreshing to actually listen to and hear the music we were making. The monitors in a live club situation are always just enough to get by, never really enough to actually ins

Yesterday was a long day. Once we got into the studio, we basically reconstructed "Bloody Sunrise" from the ground up. I'm so excited about the work we did, I think it really made the song come alive. At the very end of the session, we finished mixing "Follow." I'm looking forward to living with it for a few days. Hopefully, after hearing it with fresh ears, we all agree tha

Hey everyone! I don't have a lot of time to go into detail about the last 24 hours. We arrived in LA around 5pm. Dean, Ty and Chip are staying in what could be considered somewhat of a crack-hotel in the valley. Haha! Mitch and I are staying at our producer Mike Gurley's place, just so we can continue writing between sessions. Mike, Mitch, and I were up until about 2am discussing previous mixes of

The hometown rockers with Wayland are coming back from their long trek on the road! These guys are one of the most hard working bands in all the land, and they are out to prove that once again here in Grand Rapids! Not only are they performing a massive night of rock, but they are filming a live DVD and also benefitting the A-T Children's Project!

Yesterday's 6 hour drive felt like 10 hours. Once again I couldn't nap so I ended up reading a good chunk of Keith Richards' autobiography "Life." I'm about half way through the book and I love it. When we first pulled into Phoenix it was 72 degrees and sunny. Mitch and I stepped off the bus, chose a direction, and just started walking. It felt great to be outside and breathing the fresh

After morning radio at 99.5 The Rocket, we checked into the Las Cruces, N.M., hotel at 10 a.m. I called the front desk and explained to the girl that we were a rock band that had nowhere to go until 3 p.m. check-in. She had the housekeeping staff clean our rooms first to get us right in.

It's been a whirlwind 24 hours since I write my last blog. We had a really fun time meeting everyone at 95.5 KLAQ in El Paso yesterday. As soon as we arrived, we recorded a segment for a "new music" show with one of the DJs, Ray, that will air on KLAQ on Sunday. Directly after that we went live on the air with the afternoon jock, Glenn. We became fast friends with Glenn and ended up goin

It was a -6 windchill in Lubbock last night, but that didn't stop us from having a great time. We met Mike Driver at 94.5 FMX yesterday. He was a cool dude in every sense of the phrase. A long time friend of Jesse Dupree, he welcomed us with open arms and we had a great time jamming "Reno," "On My Knees," and "Nobody's Perfect" acoustic on the air.
