The club last night was awesome. Great sound, great stage, wonderful staff. You know you're in Las Vegas when there's more leather, studs and sequence in the crowd than there is on stage. We were opening for a well-known local Vegas cover band.

I was a little sad to leave L.A. yesterday. Only because we are getting so close to finishing this group of songs that it's frustrating to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and not be able to run into it. We had an amazingly productive day in the rehearsal room yesterday. We arranged a full-band, acoustic version of "Follow" and spent some time jamming on the new arrangement of "Bloody Sunrise." We also worked on a new arrangement for "Get a Little," and for the last 2 hours we jammed on some brand new songs.

After morning radio at 99.5 The Rocket, we checked into the Las Cruces, N.M., hotel at 10 a.m. I called the front desk and explained to the girl that we were a rock band that had nowhere to go until 3 p.m. check-in. She had the housekeeping staff clean our rooms first to get us right in.

It was a -6 windchill in Lubbock last night, but that didn't stop us from having a great time. We met Mike Driver at 94.5 FMX yesterday. He was a cool dude in every sense of the phrase.
