Three Days Grace have been through a whirlwind of changes since the departure of original vocalist Adam Gontier. However, the band decided to move on with My Darkest Day singer Matt Walst on lead vocals for their current tour with Shinedown. It's been almost two months since former Three Days Grace vocalist Adam Gontier abruptly parted ways with the band he helped create 20 years ago. Despite the singer's departure, the rest of Three Days Grace decided to move forward and recruited My Darkest Days frontman Matt Walst, brother of bassist Brad Walst, as their temporary new singer for the time being. The band sat down with us during their stop at the Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek last night (February 13) to talk about their future, and how fans have stayed in their corner during uncertain times.

In the 10 days or so since the announcement of Three Days Grace's split with frontman Adam Gontier, more and more details have surfaced about their parting of the ways. Gontier is the latest to unveil more about his exit from the band, stating that it was more of creative decision, but also reiterating that he does have health issues.

On January 17th, Adam Gontier performed a solo set at the Rock for Recovery benefit show for victims of Hurricane Sandy at Gramercy Theatre in New York City. Gontier shocked the rock world by leaving the band Three Days Grace shortly after the release of their latest album, Transit of Venus, and prior to a planned co-headlining tour with Shinedown that makes a stop at Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek on February 13th.
