Ugh, if only scammers took a break during the holidays (or during a pandemic!) - but nope. Michigan's Attorney General Dana Nessel recently issued an alert about scams related to DTE Energy.
These two scammers claiming to be on a high school's football team tried to "fundraise" by going door to door, and unknowingly they knocked on the door of the coach for that same football team.
Fox 11 reports that the two scammers knocked on the coach's door and claimed to be players for the Covina football team...
The app itself self isn't a scam, but the way people are using it, especially when trying to buy things online from individuals, is when the scam happens.
Better Business Bureau Serving Eastern Michigan & the Upper Peninsula say they've received numerous complaints from people being scammed by a fake number.
