Nothing More, from Texas, just stopped through Grand Rapids with Chevelle on Monday. This week, the San Antonio band also premiered its new video for the song you've heard on 97.9 'GRD, "This is the Time (Ballast)."

Nothing More is a great band from Texas (my home state), and they came through town on Monday as one of the openers for the Chevelle show at The Orbit Room.  They also stopped by the station to meet some winners and play a couple songs for us in their special "acoustic" format. These guys do their acoustic thing a bit different from most.

Middle Class Rut was the second band to play during the Chevelle concert on Monday night, with Nothing More opening the show.   These two dudes jumped on stage and rocked with a lot of energy, with a huge sound for two guys being the only ones up there. They had some backing tracks going to fill things out, but they weren't playing too loud.

Nothing More is a great band from Texas, and right now they're on tour with Chevelle and Middle Class Rut.   The guys stopped by the 'GRD studios Monday before their show at The Orbit Room to play for a few WGRD Freeloaders Club winners and the staff, and then joined Jackie on the air to talk about the show. Their "acoustic" setup is a bit different from most, as they run everything thro

Back in 1999…jeez, was it that long ago?…Static-X burst out into the music world with their Wisconsin Death Trip album.   It was so crazy at the time, with Wayne's hair all standing straight up, Tony Campos bashing his bass, and Koichi Fukuda ripping his guitar around while playing these super-tight riffs.

With all the packaged tours going around right now, there's one coming that's a bit different.  If you've ever gotten the chance to see one of Joe Satriani's G3 tours, this would be similar to that.  It's the Guitar Gods Festival Tour 2014! Yngwie Malmsteen has put together a Guitar Gods tour with Uli Jon Roth, Gary Hoey, and Bumblefoot!  No word on whether they'll all get on stage together and sh

On April 4th, Iced Earth, Sabaton and ReVamp kicked off their US tour here in Grand Rapids at the Intersection.  They all played amazing sets, even with the equipment problems ReVamp had during the day. Apparently, their gear didn't arrive in time for the show, so they had to get some rental gear to play the show, and it pushed the show start time back a bit. Check out the beginning of the behind
