The University of Michigan fired fifth-year head men's basketball coach Juwan Howard (pictured) on Friday afternoon after the school endured their worst season in history.

Wolverine fans have been riding high after the Michigan football team won the national championship, but that is not the case for the basketball team and it may get worse.

Free Beer is once again calling college football games for Compass Media Networks this season. This past weekend, he was in Happy Valley calling the Penn State-Maryland game. At the beginning of the second quarter, Penn State QB Christian Hackenberg dropped back to pass and started to scramble. He managed to get the ball away, but not to the intended receiver.

As expected, NCAA officials have levied heavy punishment on Penn State over the Jerry Sandusky molestation scandal. The school will have to pay $60 million in fines, is banned from any postseason appearance for the next four years and more.
