Denzel Valentine had 16 points and Travis Trice 15 to lead Michigan State past Georgia 70-63 on Friday in the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament in Charlotte. The seventh-seeded Spartans (24-11) advanced in the East Region to the round of 32 on Sunday against second-seeded Virginia, which defeated Belmont 79-67. Charles Mann's 19 points led Georgia (21-12).

After the University of Arizona lost to Wisconsin in the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament on Saturday night, Arizona students took to the streets in Tucson, Ariz. Riot police had to be called in to control the situation. A video posted to YouTube showed what appeared to be one of the riot cops using excessive force when dealing with a young woman.

Wisconsin and Florida each won a regional championship on Saturday to advance to the NCAA Final Four in Arlington, Texas, next weekend.
