The band went on hiatus in 2006, which saw frontman Serj Tankian release his solo album Elect the Dead, guitarist Daron Malakian and drummer John Dolmayan formed Scars on Broadway, and bassist Shavo Odadjian worked with RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan on their hip-hop project Achozen.

System of a Down reformed earlier this year to play a handful of European dates during the summer and headlined the Rock in Rio music festival this past weekend. Dolmayan was interviewed by a couple of Brazilian hotties and says a new System album will eventually happen.
